Don’t read anything about the plot of District 9 before you go see it. Just go see it, and go in fresh, like we did. All you need to know is that it somehow manages to balance as serious and allegorical a story as Children of Men with the out-and-out FUN of Star Trek or Iron Man. I can say without hyperbole that it is a truly awesome (in the literal definition of the word) experience.
